
Women's Golf Finishes Second at BIG EAST Championships

Cincinnati, Ohio - The University of Louisville women's golf team finished second at the BIG EAST Championship on Tuesday afternoon at the Elks Run Golf Course in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cardinals shot a 302 in the final round for a score of 908. Notre Dame held on to the lead to win with a score of 899. Cincinnati, the tournament host, finished third with a score of 920.
Junior Cindy LaCrosse shot a 74 in the final round to finish third with a score of 225. LaCrosse finished the front nine at five over par and then came back with an impressive performance on the back nine to finish three under par. She finished the final nine holes with three birdies, and just one bogey. Notre Dame's Annie Brophy took medalist honors, finishing with a score of 222.
Freshman Sara-Maude Juneau finished tied for sixth after shooting an 80 in the final round for a score of 228. Freshman Laura Anderson shot a 74 in the final round to finish tied for 8th with a score of 74. She finished the day with three birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.
Junior Amanda Henry finished tied for 12th with a score of 232. Henry carded a 75 in the final round, finishing the day with two birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey. Senior Jenny Calkins shot a 79 for the day to finish tied at 15th with a score of 233. Calkins finished the day with two birdies, four bogeys and two double bogeys.
LaCrosse earned All-BIG EAST honors for the third straight year. Freshmen Sara-Maude Juneau and Lara Anderson both earned All-BIG EAST honors as well. The Cardinals will now wait for the NCAA Championship selection on Monday, April 28th.
