MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - - Sophomore Morten Sivertsen advanced to the finals of Flight `A3' Singles Saturday in the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational Sophomore Kenneth Nordheim and freshman Viktor Maksimcuk each lost in the first round of the Championship Flight, but will play each other in the consolation final Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Sivertsen picked up wins over Austin Peay's Andrew Solarski (6-3, 6-3) and Middle Tennessee's Derrick Davison (6-4, 5-7, 6-4) to go 2-0 on the day. He will meet Middle Tennessee's Marc Boiron in the championship Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Nordheim lost his first round match 6-4, 6-3 to Mississippi State's Phillippe Frayssinoux, but defeated Morehead State's Greg Johnstone 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 in the back draw.
Marc Rocafort of Middle Tennessee handed freshman Viktor Maksimcuk his first loss of the season 6-4, 6-1. Maksimcuk came back to beat Mississippi State's Pjotrs Necajevs 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 to set up the all-Cardinal consolation final Sunday at noon.
