The University of Louisville volleyball team will hold four separate camps this summer where campers can polish their technical skills and learn to interact in a group and team environment.
The Cardinals will hold an Individual Camp from July 7-9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cardinal Arena on the campus of the University of Louisville. This camp is open to players from grades seven through 12. All necessary fundamentals to succeed in the sport of volleyball will be taught by instructors that will include assistant coaches Melissa Starck-Bean and Craig Bere as well as U of L student athletes.
"We are very excited about this summer's camps," said Camp Director Melissa Starck-Bean. "It is a wonderful opportunity for young athletes to hone their skills while interacting with our staff and athletes. It is also very instructional for our U of L athletes to teach skills to younger players and thus give back to their own sport while creating opportunities for others."
Position Camp will be held on July10-11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southern Indiana Sports Center (SISC) in New Albany, Indiana. Training will be specific to the players' positions.
U of L will hold a Team Camp July 13-15 at Cardinal Arena. High School and Middle School Teams will be divided according to skill level and instruction will incorporate skill training and team training in conjunction with competition/tournament play.
Youth Camp will be held July 23-25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cardinal Arena on the campus of the University of Louisville. This is an opportunity for younger kids (grades 3-8) to learn the game of volleyball though skill instruction and game flow drills.
