Swimming and Diving Split with Western Kentucky

The University of Louisville men's and women's swim team split with intrastate rival Western Kentucky Saturday evening in Bowling Green. The women won 189-111. The men, hoping to hand the Hilltopper men their first loss of the season, fell 189-110.
U of L women move their record to 10-2 for the season with the men falling to 3-9. WKU men stay undefeated at 8-0 with the women moving to 6-2.
Amanda Henleben continued her dominance in the distance events won two races with wins in the 1000 free and the 500-free. In the 1000-free, she posted a time of 10:21.52, with teammate Ashley Jackson finishing second at 10:31.47. In the 500-free, Henleben was first with a time of 5:04.92 with teammate Leslie Van Winkle touching second with a time of 5:06.57.
Vali Preda stayed hot with three wins for the Cardinals. He took both the 100- and 200-breast and the 200-IM. In the 200-breast, he dominated with a three second lead on the next finisher, posting a time of 2:06.77. Diver Robbie Lewis swept both boards with a 303.95 on the 3-meter board and 277.12 on the 1-meter. Marianne Bradford was edged by the slimmest of scores in the 1-meter, posting a 247.32, just 2.02 behind WKU.
Another multiple event winner was Melanie Greyling who anchored the winning 200-medley relay team as well as taking the 200-free and the 100-free. Johanna Nyysti won two with a win as a part of the 200-medley relay team and the 100-breast. Heather Meng took second in the 100-breast but rallied to first in the 200-breast with a time of 2:21.79. She was a part of the winning 200-medley relay team as well.
Anna Dishuck flew to a first in the 50-free with a time of 23.05 and was first in the U of L top three sweep of the 200-IM, finishing just ahead of Jenny Schimenti and Leigh Smith. Smith also had a second in the 200-breast.
Abby Miller won the 200-fly as did Rafal Kuchta for the men to make it a Cardinal sweep.
Andrei Teudean raced well for a second in the 100-back, posting a time of 1:53.30 as did Chris Lindauer who was just out-touched by .49 for second in the 100-free.
