
Men's Tennis Closes Play at the Virginia Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - - The University of Louisville men's tennis team completed play at the 2006 Virginia Invitational Sunday in Charlottesville, Va. Sophomore Robert Rotaru finished runner-up in the the Yellow Singles division and senior Slavko Radman retired in the finals of the Orange Singles consolation draw. Redshirt freshman Ben Clos advanced in the championship match of the White Singles consolation division when Charlotte's Brad Clinard defaulted.
Rotaru edged Western Michigan's Kevin Hayward 7-6 (9) in the first set, but Hayward outlasted Rotaru 6-4, 7-5 to win the division. Rotaru finished the tournament with a 3-1 record.
In the Orange Singles consolation final, William & Mary's Alex Cojanu was leading Radman 4-3 in the first set when Radman retired.
Clos came out on top of the White Singles consolation draw when Clinard defaulted in the finals.
