Senior Jeremy Clark Acts as Keynote Speaker

The University of Louisville Athletic Department honored all 550 of its athletes and spirit groups at the annual Spring Sport Banquet Monday evening at the Galt House East. Senior Men's Tennis player Jeremy Clark served as the night's keynote speaker, reflecting on his career at U of L. Clark is a three-year starter for the Cardinals and has been an integral part of the University of Louisville's 2006 team which has achieved the program's highest national ranking at No. 12. Clark currently leads the team with a 16-12 overall record and is part of the Cardinals' No. 43 ranked doubles team along with senior Jakob Gustafsson. The team of Clark and Gustafsson has been ranked as high No. 19 in the nation this year. Clark has been a member of a nationally ranked doubles since his sophomore year. Clark has also been one of U of L men's tennis most successful performers in the classroom, earning ITA All-American Scholar Team honors as a sophomore and a junior.
The athletic department's community service efforts were recognized with the three CardsCARE Awards. The field hockey team amassed the most hours of community service. The most outstanding freshman athletes received recognition for their outstanding contribution to their respective teams during their initial season as a Cardinal. 2006 Male Freshman of the Year - Vali Preda, swimming 2006 Female Freshman of the Year - Kristi Cunningham, softball
The Sherrill Brakmeier/Clark Wood Awards are presented to student-athletes who have at least a 3.0 gpa and exemplify outstanding qualities of leadership, dedication to the community, service and scholarship as well as commitment and loyalty to the University of Louisville.
