
Swimming and Diving Compete at Purdue Quadrangular

The University of Louisville men's swimming and diving teams were beaten in the four meets as the Cardinals faced what will be their steepest competition at the Purdue Quad that featured the Boilermakers, Utah, Georgia and Penn State.
U of L was beaten 264-87 by Penn State, 292-59 by Purdue, 278-69 by Georgia and 244-105.
In the 200-free relay, Chris Lindauer, Matt Maley, Andrei Teudean and Carlos Van Isschot put up a time of 1:26.27.
In the 200-IM, Danny Keeling turned in the top performance of the Cardinals with a 1:56.13. Charlton Lawson was the top Cardinal in the 500-free with a 4:41.31. In the 100-breast, Chris Lindauer had an outstanding swim, finishing fifth in the overall field. Andrei Teudean was the top U of L finisher in the 200-back in a tightly contested race. Freshman Carlos Van Isschot was the top Cardinal swimmer in the 100-free with a scim of 48.07. Adam Madarassy was sixth overall in the 200-fly with a 1:53.20.
The 400-medley relay team of Andrei Teudean, Chris Lindauer, Adam Madarassy and Carlos Van Isschot had a nice showing with a time of 3:27.18, good for fifth overall.
In the 3-meter diving, Robbie Lewis was eighth overall with a score of 274.10. He was 10th in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 258.00.
U of L's A relay team in the 200-medley relay was disqualified but the B-relay of Paul Augustus, Luke Wakefield, Chris Pinkston and Gaelen Horne hung in with a time of 1:40.74. Charlton Lawson was the top swimmer for the Cardinals in the 1000-free with a time of 9:48.13. Chris Lindauer was seventh overall in the 50-free with a time of 21.23.
Andrei Teudean put in a strong performance in the 100-back with an overall fourth place and a time of 51.30. Danny Keeling came through for the Cardinals in the 200-breast with a 2:12.63. Adam Madarassy was sixth overall in the 100-fly with a time of 51.16. Newcomers Keeling and Luke Wakefield were the top finishers in the 400-IM. In the 400-free relay, Chris Lindauer, Adam Madarassy, Andrei Teudean and Carlos Van Isschot turned in a time of 3:09.27.
