
Men's Golf in Second Place at Wolf Run Intercollegiate

Zionsville, Ind. - The University of Louisville men's golf team stands in second in the 10-team field at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind. The Cardinals (584) shot an opening round 290, followed by a second-round 284 to trail first-place Kentucky (581) by three strokes after two rounds of play.
Georgia Southern is third with a two-round tally of 591 (299-292), while UCF is fourth at 594 (299-295). Xavier (299-296) and Arkansas (296-299) are tied for fifth with identical scores of 595. Host-team Indiana is tied for seventh with Michigan at 599, while Memphis is two strokes back at 601 for ninth place. Missouri holds 10th place with a two-round score of 602 (298-304).
Junior Derek Fathauerleads the way for the Cardinals and also leads the tournament after shooting 66-73=139. Freshman Lewis Kirton is tied for 13th after two rounds with a score of 147 (74-73). Junior Daryl Fathauer is tied for 17th after carding a 148 (75-73) through two rounds of play, followed by sophomore Adam Hadwin who fired a pair of 75s to stand at 150 (75-75) with 18 holes remaining. Andrew Freeman rounds out the scoring for U of L with a score of 157 (75-82).
The two-day tournament wraps up on Sunday, Oct. 8, with the final 18 holes.
