Smith Leads the Cards at The Hayt on Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Brady Smith shot a 1-under-par 71 to lead the University of Louisville men's golf team to a 15th-place finish after the first round at The Hayt on Saturday at the Sawgrass Country Club.
The Cardinals are 15th of 16 teams after shooting a 6-over-par 294 after the first 18 holes of the tournament. LSU is in first place by shooting a 14-under-par 274 and Virginia is in second place at 12-under-par. Auburn and Alabama are tied for 3rd place.
Smith is in a tie for 26th place after he was the lone UofL player under par. Smith shot a 71 with four birdies for his round, but also suffered one bogey and one double for his round.
Making his team debut, Adam Buchanan is tied for 5oth place after carding a 1-over-par 73 that included three birdies on his round. Cooper Claycomb is tied for 66th place after his round of 2-over-par 74.
Easton Johnson is tied for 78th after his round of 76 and Warren Thomis is tied for 82nd place after his 18 holes of 77.
The Cardinals resume action on Sunday morning at 9:35 a.m. off the tenth hole.
