Cards Finish in 13th Place at The Hayt; Claycomb Shoots 1-Under-Par

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team fired a final-round 5-under-par 283 on Monday to finish 13th at The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Cardinals (294-289-283=866) posted their best round of the tournament in the finale but were unable to break into the top 10 in a field that included seven teams ranked in the top 20. Auburn captured the team title at 28-under-par, followed by Texas Tech in second. Charlotte finished third, with LSU and North Carolina rounding out the top five.
Junior Cooper Claycomb led Louisville, finishing 36th at 1-under-par with rounds of 74-70-71=215. He recorded his best round of the event on Monday, highlighted by three birdies over the final five holes of his front nine.
Adam Buchanan posted Louisville's low round of the day with a 2-under 70 and finished tied for 49th at 1-over-par 217 for the tournament.
Brady Smith tied for 55th overall at 2-over-par 218 (71-76-71), while Warren Thomis tied for 59th at 3-over-par 219 (77-71-71).
Easton Johnson rounded out the Cardinals' lineup, finishing 75th at 6-over-par 222 (76-74-72).
Louisville returns to action March 15–17 at the Michael A. Marino Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C..
