Cards in Three-Way Tie for the Lead at the Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla. – The University of Louisville men's golf team is tied for the lead after 18 holes at the sixth annual Calusa Cup on Sunday at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
Louisville carded a 5-under-par 288 to sit atop the leader board with Florida and Eastern Michigan heading into Monday's second round of action. USF is in fourth place at 4-under-par and host Iowa is in fifth at 1-over-par.
The Cardinals received outstanding performances from Andrew Tan and Warren Thomis, who are knotted up in a tie for seventh place with a 2-under-par 70. Tan recorded three birdies on the day, including an eagle on No. 13. Thomis recorded a team best six birdies during his round. The duo head into Monday's round just two shots off the lead as four players are tied for the tournament lead after 18 holes.
Easton Johnson is the third UofL player to record a round of under-par with his 1-under-par 71 to sit in 12th place. Brady Smith and Cooper Claycomb each round even-par rounds of 72 to stand in a tie for 14th place.
