
Cards One Shot Back at the Michael Marino after 27 Holes

The University of Louisville men's golf team is in second place following the first day of the inaugural Michael A. Marino Classic at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club on Sunday.
The teams played 27 holes on the first day of the three-day tournament and will play nine holes on Monday with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start due to the potential inclement weather.
Liberty leads the team standings with a combined score of 12-under-par 420 through the first 27 holes. No. 33 Louisville sits one stroke behind the Flames in second place, with NC State two strokes back in third and Coastal Carolina five strokes back in fourth.

Louisville's Cooper Claycomb  and Nolan Harper of Florida Gulf Coast and are tied for the individual lead at 7-under par. Claycomb shot a first-round score of 68 and followed back with a 3-under-par after nine holes of the second round.
Brady Smith is tied for 11th at 3-under-par after his 27 holes of action. The sophomore shot a first-round score of 71 and was 2-under-par during his second round of action.
Easton Johnson is tied for 19th at 1-under-par and Adam Buchanan is tied for 38th overall at 1-over-par. Warren Thomis rounded out the top five in 41st place at 2-over-par.
The Cardinals tee off on Monday morning at 8:45 a.m.
