Volleyball's Ustymenko Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Senior Lena Ustymenko was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the No.7 ranked University of Louisville volleyball team which is undefeated at 9-0.
"Lena kicked it up to a new level for us last weekend," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin. "We did not have a great team performance at times last weekend, but her individual effort more than made up for that."
Ustymenko's tournament MVP award at the Green and Orange Challenge in Miami, Fla., was her third in as many weeks. In Louisville's victories over Michigan State (3-2), Sacramento State (3-0), Miami (3-1), she totalled 57 kills (.333 pct.), 10 service aces, 35 digs and three blocks. Five of her ten service aces came in the Cardinals' toughest test of the season, against Michigan State. Her best hitting performance came when she hit .417 with 24 kills against Miami.
