
Pitino Previews Upcoming Billy Minardi Classic at Freedom Hall

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media on Monday to preview the upcoming Billy Minardi Classic set for Tuesday and Wednesday at Freedom Hall. The Cards (6-1) will open the action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET against Middle Tennessee (5-2) on WHAS-TV while Florida Atlantic (3-3) and College of Charleston (3-3) will meet at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Presented by Anthem, Frazier Rehab Center, Meijer and Central Bank, the event originated in 2002 to honor the memory of Billy Minardi, the brother-in-law of Pitino who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
The tournament will conclude on Wednesday with the consolation game at 5:30 p.m. ET and the championship game at 8 p.m. ET on WHAS-TV.
