
Men's Golf Finishes Third at Xavier

LOVELAND, Ohio - - Sophomore Daryl Fathauer finished third at the Xavier Invitational at the Oasis Golf Club Tuesday in Loveland, Ohio.
The Cardinals, who were leading after day one, slipped to third place overall but finished just one shot behind Austin Peay and Xavier. The Govenor's were declared the winner after the two teams competed in a playoff.
Louisville had four of its top five players finish in the top 20.
Fathauer fired 71-64-74=209, the fifth-best three round score in school history. Charlie Woo fired a 209 in 2003-04 and current team Adam Rainaud also shot 209 last season.
Senior Will Hanna, who entered the day tied for 12th, carded a 3-under par 69 in the final round to finish in fourth place. He shot 73-68-69=210.
Freshman Adam Hadwin tied for 14th by shooting three rounds of 71 for 213 and sophomore Derek Fathauer was tied for 17th overall after shooting 66-73-75=214. Sophomore Adam Rainaud was tied for 74th.
The Cardinals will compete in the Barona Collegiate Cup on Oct. 24-25 in San Diego, Calif.
