Louisville, Ky. - Mystery is in the air this season. The mystery surrounds who will anchor the Cardinal defense, who will start in goal and can the offense survive the loss of Simon Bird? Just how far can the 2004 Cardinals go after one of the most successful campaigns in school history last season? "We have some exciting players and a great group of young men that could make our season one to remember," said head coach Tony Colavecchia. While there are a lot of questions this season there appear to be plenty of answers on the field. Colavecchia once again looks to have the right amount of experience, youth, talent and depth to turn this mystery into a success story. Just like the Cardinal defense, the attack lost a prolific goal scorer in Simon Bird. While the Cardinals have a lot of talented forwards, the question remains as who will fill the shoes left by Bird? "A lot of uncertainty surrounds the attack, but we are not short on talent," Colavecchia said. "Senior Justin Pierre looks more like a complete player heading into his final season. His experience with the Cayman National Team definitely helped his confidence." Pierre saw significant time in the starting lineup last season and he will be looked upon on to lead the Cardinal attack. Newcomer Jack Sisterson could also see time up front for the Cardinals. Sisterson finished his senior year with 49 goals and set the school record for most career goals. He also set a school record for most goals scored in a game with eight. "Jack Sisterson from England will definitely be in the mix for a spot in the attack," said Colavecchia. "He has all the tools and is a proven goal scorer at all levels. We will need him to finish the chances that we are likely to create from midfield."
