Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team will hold a fundraiser to benefit Nicholaus VanArsdale Saturday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Nicholaus is the four-year old son of Bass-Rudd Tennis Center business manager Melinda VanArsdale and has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Louisville tennis coaches Rex Ecarma, Greg Davis and Mark Beckham, along with Bass-Rudd Tennis Center staff Meg Peavy and teaching pro Murhl Searcy and the Cardinal men's tennis team will give lessons for a donation. The benefit is open to the public and all proceeds will go to a fund set up to pay the medical expenses for Nicholaus.
"It is our pleasure to assist young Nicholaus in any way we possibly can," said Ecarma. "Our business manager, Melinda VanArsdale and her family have been part of our U of L community for the past ten years and we feel fortunate to have the opportunity to help."
