Jurich and Burton Earn All-Conference Honors

HOUSTON, TX - University of Louisville senior outfielder Mark Jurich has been named to the Conference USA First Team for the second time in his illustrious Cardinal career. He is joined in post season honors by freshman Daniel Burton, who was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team.

Jurich, who made the squad following the 2002 slate, is hitting .361 with 47 runs, 18 doubles, three triples, 19 home runs and 60 RBI in 54 games. He has posted a .718 slugging percentage, leads C-USA with 163 total bases and has committed just a single error this season.

Jurich established a new career record at U of L with 57 doubles and ranks in the top ten in nine major offensive categories.

Burton, from New Albany, Indiana, has started all 46 games he has played in, hitting .293 with 13 doubles and five home runs, driving in 28 runs.

The Cardinals finished the season in Tampa, Florida, needing a sweep of the three-game series against South Florida. After winning the first two, the Cards trailed 7-1 heading into the ninth in game three before rallying for eight runs to pull out a 9-7 win.

Louisville is the number eight seed in the C-USA tournament in Houston and is opening against regular-season champion East Carolina Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. ET.
