Rightfielder Lisa Estes went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the University of Louisville softball team to an 11-0 shut out of the Saint Louis Billikens in the second game of the Courtyard Marriott Louisville East Tournament Friday afternoon at Ulmer Stadium.
The Cardinals, who were designated as the visitor in this game, were held scoreless until they capitalized on five hits to put up a five spot in the fifth.
U of L used four hits and a Billiken error to score six more runs in the sixth inning.
Offensively, the Cards had 12 hits in the game. In addition to Estes' performance, Courtney Moore wnet 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Sara Bausher was 2-for-2 with two runs and Lacy Wood was 2-for-3 with two runs.
Louisville reliever Aja Sherman, was credited with the win to move her record to 4-1. She allowed three hits and struck out five in three innings.
Saint Louis starter Elizabeth Nielson (6-10) was tagged with the loss, giving up nine runs, all earned on nine hits and striking out two in five innings. The Billikens fall to 8-18 on the season.
The Cardinals (21-7) will play No. 12 Michigan (18-6) on Sunday, March 21 at Ulmer Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
