ANN ARBOR, Mich. - - University of Louisville senior Octavian Nicodim advanced to the Main Draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional hosted by the University of Michigan Friday.

Nicodim, the top seed in the qualifying bracket, defeated Minnesota's Nick Edlefsen 6-3, 6-2 and Northwestern's Adam Schaechterle 6-4, 6-0 to advance to Saturday's Main Draw.

Sophomore Stefan Naughton defeated Dayton's Tom Murphy 6-2, 6-2 in the second round, but fell to Indiana's Mike McCarthy 6-1, 7-5.

Nicodim will join teammates Jeremy Clark, Jhonny Berrido, Jakob Gustaffson and Slavko Radman in the tournament's Main Draw on Saturday.
