
Volleyball Sweeps Houston

Bing Sun had 13 kills and two blocks to lead the University of Louisville volleyball team to a 30-23, 30-21,30-26 win over Houston in a Conference USA matchup in Houston.
The Cardinals remain unbeaten in Conference play at 6-0 and are 16-2 for the season. Houston falls to 4-14 and 3-3 in league play.
"Every road win in the league is important," said Leonid Yelin, U of L head coach. "We have a lot of history with Houston and it is a good rivalry."
U of L, which has not been outblocked all year had 11.5 to Houston's 6-0. The Cardinals hit .327 to UH's .114.
In the first game, U of L popped out to a 15-11 lead and Houston was unable to close the gap although they came as close as 25-21 on a Louisville service error. U of L outscored the Cougars 5-2 down the stretch for the win.
In the second game, U of L took its first lead at 11-10 but Houston came back to regain the lead at 14-13 when Louisville was called out of rotation. Louisville tied the score on the next play on a kill by Steph Marsh which launched U of L on an 8-2 run and the Cardinals never looked back.
After getting off to a sluggish start after the break, U of L took its first lead at 13-12 after a five point run. The two teams traded points and U of L finally called a tinmeout with a 25-23 lead after a three point Cougar run.
Steph Marsh had 11 kills on 17 attacks to hit .588. She also led the team in digs with 11. Ana Yartseva had seven blocks to lead all blockers.
