
Women's Golf Signs Two

Louisville, Ky. - Amy Yeates of Worthington, West Sussex and Cristina Gonzalez of Durango, Mexico have signed a national letters-of-intent to continue their golf careers at the University of Louisville next season.
Yeates won the 2000 and 2002 Sussex 18 and Under Championship. She was also named to the Sussex Ladies first team in 2002. She is currently on the England Elite Training Squad. She qualified for the 2003 British Girls championship and reached the quarter finals.
"Amy is a mentally strong player that will bring a lot of maturity to the team," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "She is looking for the opportunity to see what she can do in the states."
Gonzalez finished fourth in the 2002 Girls Junior America's Cup. She placed second in the 2001 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. She also finished third in the 2000 Sao Paolo International Junior Golf Open.
"Cristina can hit the ball long and hard and is a very experienced player," said Meyers. "She is dedicated to making an impact for the Cardinals."
