
Women's Golf Finishes Fifth In C-USA Championship

Tampa, Fla. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 309, the third lowest round of day in the final round of the Conference USA Championships in Tampa, Fla. on Wednesday. The Cards finished the championship with a score of 939 to finish fifth out of nine teams. South Florida won the championship with a one stroke lead over TCU. South Florida shot a 302 to finish with a score of 912 while TCU shot a 303 to finish with a score of 913. East Carolina finished third with a score of 933 and Tulane finished fourth with a score of 934.
TCU's DRae Ward took medalist honors with a score of 224. Louisville's Ali Wright and Morgan Hapney carded a team low of 75 for the day. Hapney was the Cards' highest finisher, tied for 11th with a score of 233. Wright finished tied for 13th with a score of 234, marking her best finish of the season.
Freshman Elly Leonard finished the day with a score of 79, finishing the tournament with a 242 for 27th place. Senior Cindy Pasechnik finished the tournament in 25th place with a score of 239. Sophomore Meghan Little struggled in the final round with a score of 83. Little finished the tournament tied for 21st with a score of 238.
Following the championship Junior Morgan Hapney was named third team All-Conference USA while freshman Elly Leonard was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team.
