
Women's Golf Wins Cardinal Cup

Simpsonville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 307 in the final round of the Louisville Cardinal Cup to win the tournament with a score of 919. UNC-Greensboro finished second after shooting a 306 in the final round for a score of 924. Memphis finished third with a score of 926. Campbell University shot a low round of 304 to finish fourth with a score of 935.
"I am very proud of the team effort over the past two days," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "The home course advantage helped but we also knew how hard the course was too. Hopefully we can build on this win for the rest of the season."
Jenny Gleason of UNC-Greensboro held her lead, shooting a 72 in the final round to take medalist honors with a score of 217. Memphis' Jennifer Jaszek and Marianne Ruud finished second and third respectively. Cardinal freshman Elly Leonard finished fourth with a score of 227.
Junior Morgan Hapney finished in the top 10 with a score of 232. Sophomore Meghan Little registered her first Top 20 finish with a score of 233 tied for 13th. Junior Ali Wright shot a low round of 73 to finish in the Top 20 with a score of 236. Senior Cindy Pasechnik finished 23rd with a score of 237.
Senior Jessica Kell finished 27th with a score of 239. Erin Bell finished 44th with a score of 248 and Candace Pasechnik finished 58th with a score of 255.
