
Women's Golf Stands At Sixth After Second Day

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 306 in the second round of the Conference USA Championship on Saturday. The Cardinals currently stand in sixth place with a score of 610.
Tulane leads the field with a score of 590 and TCU and Memphis are tied for second with a score of 596. South Florida fell from first place to fourth with a score of 598 and UAB holds a six stroke over the Cardinals with a score of 604.
"We lost a lot of strokes coming in from the 15th hole," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "We have stayed consistent and that is something that we can build on. We'd like to break 300 tomorrow and finish the tournament strong."
Louisville junior Cindy Pasechnik finished the day with a tournament low round of 71 and currently holds the lead with a score of 143. South Florida's Katie Ruhe is two strokes behind in second place and TCU's Brooke Tull and USF's Kelly Martin are tied for third with a score of 146.
"I am very excited for Cindy," Meyers said. "She's been playing solid and working hard all year long. She really deserves to be in this position."
Junior Jessica Kell shot another 77 for a score of 154 and currently stands tied for 27th place. Sophomore Ali Wright shot a 79 on the day and currently stands tied for 22nd place with a score of 153.
Sophomore Morgan Hapney came back to shot a 79 today and currently stands tied for 36th place with a score of 160. Redshirt freshman Meghan Little shot an 82 today for a score of 169.
The Cardinals will continue the final round of play tomorrow at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
