
Men's Tennis Defeats Wichita State 4-1

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas- The University of Louisvllle men's tennis team defeated Wichita State 4-1 Friday in the H-E-B Collegiate Team Championship in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Cardinals won the doubles point as the team of Cody Conley and Octavian Nicodim defeated Mark Sewell and Jaime Rodriguez 8-6 at the top seed and Brent McCombe and Matt Mayer teamed ot bead Ben Cramp and Juan Escalante 8-3 at No. 3. The Shockers' Joggen Austin and Carlo Contente defeated Jake Kirts and Paulo Carvalho 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles, Nicodim topped Cramp 7-5, 6-4 at the three spot and Mayer defeated Austin 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4. McCombe blanked Escalante 6-0, 6-0 at No.6 to give the Cardinals the win. Carlo Contente outlasted Alex Sivertsent 7-5, 7-6 at No. 5 for Wichita State's only point.
Louisville improves to 5-9 on the season. The Cardinals will continue tournament play on Saturday.
