
Women's Golf Tied for Fifth after First Round

Greenville, S.C. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 303 in the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational today to finish the day tied for fifth place. North Carolina and host Furman University stand in first place with a score of 295. Tulane University is in third with a score of 296 and South Carolina is in fourth with a score of 302.
"I am very please with our play today," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "We played very consistent and that is good considering the rainy weather conditions. Tomorrow will be a key day for us."
Despite having three three-putts on the day, junior Ali Wright pulled out four birdies to finish the day at even par and tied for fifth place. North Carolina's Ashley Prange holds the lead with a score of 70.
Senior Cindy Pasechnik is tied for 27th place with a 76 and Morgan Hapney is 33rd with a score of 77. Jessica Kell and Meghan Little are tied for 39th with a score of 78.
Freshman Elly Leonard is tied at 58th with a score of 80. Leonard is competing as an individual.
The Cardinals will continue play tomorrow morning.
