The University of Louisville women's golf team is currently tied for second place of the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. Host Memphis is in first place with a score of 607 after 36-holes. The Cardinals are tied for second with Central Florida with a two-round total of 629.
"The course played pretty hard today," said Cindy Pasechnik. "The course was dried out so the greens played pretty hard and were really fast. The course played very different from our practice round.
"Overall the scores are really high, so it is easy to see that the course isn't playing easy. So hopefully tomorrow we can come out and try to win this thing."
Pasechnik leads the Cards, shooting a 77 and a 74 in rounds one and two of the 72 par Memphis National Golf Course. She currently stands in fourth place with a score of 151. Teammate Ali Wright is currently in sixth place, shooting a 78 and 75 in the first two rounds.
Glasgow native, Morgan Hapney fired a 79 and 86 for a score of 165. Meghan Little shot an 82 and 90 for a 172 and Jessica Kell finished the day with a score of 161(83-78).
"We weren't overly happy with our team score after the first two rounds today," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "We know that we can do better. So with 18 holes left, hopefully tomorrow we can come out and show them what we are made of."
Play will resume tomorrow with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
