
Men's Tennis Welcomes Two New Players

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Sebastian Aspillaga and Adam Maskill will continue their tennis careers at U of L.
Aspillaga hails from Santiago, Chile, where he has competed in junior world championships in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Florida. He is also ranked No. 2 in Chile and No. 129 in the world. "Sebastian has proven that he can compete with the world's best junior players," said Ecarma. "He is excited for a chance to compete against the top college players." Aspillaga will join the team in the fall.
Maskill, a native of Newark, England, will join the team in January 2002. He was a finalist at the English National Grand Prix and is one of the top available players in all of England. "Adam has potential to break into our starting lineup right away and is one of the most overlooked talents in Europe," said Ecarma.
Aspillaga and Maskill join Octavian Nicodim from Bucharest, Romania for the 2001-02 season. Todd Hiscox, Louisville's other signee will not be joining the Cardinals due to his decision to play professionally.
