LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Two University of Louisville men's tennis players, Tvrtko Kujundzic and Joachim Lien, will be competing in the T. Rowe Price National Clay Court Tournament in Baltimore, Md. on Tuesday.
Kujundzic, a senior from Zagreb, Croatia, is currently No. 51 in Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. He was U of L's No. 1 player last season, compiling a 25-20 overall record for the Conference USA champion Cardinals and earning a spot on the All-Conference team.
Lien, a sophomore from Oslo Norway, played the No. 2 spot for the Cardinals, compiling a 22-9 record since joining the team in last spring. He earned a spot on the All-Conference team as well as C-USA Freshman of the Year honors. The doubles team of Kujundzic/Lien is currently No. 52 in ITA rankings.
"It appears that the National Tournament Committee sees the level of tennis we play here at the University of Louisville," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "The T. Rowe Price National Clay Courts is the second biggest tournament of the year and is the first major collegiate tournament of the year. It is an honor to have two players invited."
