LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Kelly McClain had 22 kills to lead Louisville to a 15-2, 15-2, 15-5 win over DePaul in Conference USA volleyball action at Cardinal Arena yesterday.
The win pushes the Cardinals to 3-2 in C-USA and 5-9 overall.
"We controlled the ball really well and it was our best offensive outing of the year, " said Leonid Yelin, U of L head coach.
DePaul, who upset the Cardinals last year at Cardinal Arena during U of L's Sweet Sixteen run, never challenged. The Cardinals were hitting on all cylinders with 52 kills on 120 attacks for a .367 hitting percentage. The Blue Demons hit only .038 and were outblocked 10-3.
"This lineup was comfortable despite missing leading hitter Sonja Percan, who is nursing an injured foot," said Yelin.
The Cardinals are idle until Friday when they travel to Tulane for a C-USA match.
