LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville volleyball team drew Kansas State in the first round pairings of the NCAA Tournament in their ninth appearance in the Championship. The Cardinals will play at Colorado State in Ft. Collins, Thursday, Dec. 2 and then again on Dec. 3 should they advance.
"I am pleased with our draw but even more pleased to be in since there are no guarantees if you aren't the automatic bid. If you don't host, anywhere you go will be difficult," said head coach Leonid Yelin.
Kansas State is 20-7 with six wins over Top 25 ranked teams including an upset of No. 4 Nebraska. They are led by senior Dawn Cady who averages 5 kills per game. Setter Disney Bronnenberg averages 13.6 assists per game.
Louisville, 19-11, finished its season winning 16 of its last 18 games but lost in the finals of the Conference USA Tournament. Cincinnati and Houston will join U of L in the NCAAs to represent C-USA.
