LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's tennis coach Meg Peavy announced the recipients of the player awards for the 1999-2000 season. Junior Katie McLaughlin was named most valuable player, freshman Melisa San Martin was named most improved and freshman Kelly Kiehna received the 110% award.
McLaughlin, who earlier this week was named Third Team All-Conference USA, compiled a 12-11 dual match record, 13-9 in doubles and finished among the top 18 players in Conference USA. San Martin was 20-18 overall and 15-7 in dual matches and 19-17 in doubles action. Kiehna finished 12-9 in doubles action in her first collegiate season.
"Each one of these young ladies is very deserving of the awards," said Peavy. "They all had outstanding seasons and will be back next year, which is very encouraging."
