LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Former University of Louisville forward Alex Sanders earned second team All-International Basketball League honors following his initial season with the Cincinnati Stuff.
The Cincinnati Stuff's Rookie of the Year, Sanders gained recognition on the 10-man team by averaging 16.4 points (sixth best in the IBL) and 6.5 rebounds in helping the Stuff post a 43-21 record and the East Conference Championship. The Stuff, down 1-0 in the second round of the IBL Playoffs, faces Richmond at Cincinnati's Firststar Center on Sunday (May 14) in its next outing. Sanders was twice named Player of the Week during the regular season.
Following his three-season collegiate career at Louisville, Sanders was drafted in the eighth round by the Stuff in the league's inaugural draft last July. He is one of 51 Cardinals who have reached the 1,000 career points milestone.
