John Neidert, a rugged linebacker for the Cardinals, was a second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference linebacker in 1965 and 1967. He played three seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals (1968), New York Jets (1968-69) and Chicago Bears (1970), playing in Super Bowl III as a member of the Jets.
Neidert worked with the U.S. Postal Service in Sarasota, Fla. He was honored by the Postal Service in 1990 for his heroic efforts in pulling a motorcyclist from a burning wreck. He has also worked as an assistant football coach at Riverview High School in Sarasota.
