The No. 12-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team will head to Berkeley, Calif., where the Cardinals will take on No. 17 Cal in a top-20 Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on Friday. Louisville will stay in Berkeley to face UC Davis in a neutral site contest on Sunday.

QUICK HITS
• The Cardinals bring a 6-2 record into the weekend following back-to-back home shutout victories over Boston College and Saint Joseph's.
• Louisville is ranked No. 16 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll released on Sept. 22, moving up four spots from last week's ranking.
• Tyler Everslage, Chloe Plumb and Annabel Sep lead the team with three goals and one assist each while Aubreigh Uba is tied among team leaders with seven points (2G, 3A). Everslage has registered a goal or an assist in each of Louisville's last four games.
• Seven different players have contributed to Louisville's 16 goals with five registering multiple goals.
• Current ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week Emily Young has surrendered nine goals with 40 saves in 492:45 minutes of play for a 1.10 goals against average and a .816 save percentage.
• Young, who was named NFHCA DI National and ACC Defensive Player of Week on Sept. 1 and 2 respectively, posted her 100th career save in the 2-1 shootout win over then-No. 10 Miami (Ohio) on Aug. 28.
• Lauren Masters, Jaelen Perez, Gracie Potter and Annabel Sep were named to the NFHCA Collegiate Watch List. Sep was also named to the Preseason All-ACC Team
• The 2026 Louisville field hockey co-captains are: Sophia Parker, Chloe Plumb and Emily Young
• UofL was picked to finish eighth in the ACC preseason coaches poll.
• Louisville's Trager Stadium will also serve as the host site for the 2026 NCAA Field Hockey Championship November 20-22. It will be the seventh time that Trager Stadium will have served as the host site for event.
• Justine Sowry recently collected her 200th win at Louisville with the Cardinals' 2-0 victory over Saint Joseph's on Sept. 20.
• Sowry entering her 16th season at the helm. During her tenure, Sowry has guided the Cardinals to nine NCAA tournament appearances, advancing to the quarterfinals in three of the last six years and reaching the semifinals in 2020.

• The Cardinals will resume ACC play next weekend when North Carolina and Stanford visit Trager Stadium on Friday and Sunday respectively.

Scouting the Golden Bears:
• The Golden Bears enter their ACC opener with a 5-1 overall record, most recently falling to No. 1 Northwestern after starting the season with five straight wins including a 1-0 victory at then-No. 8 Michigan.
• Cal stands third in the ACC in points per game with a value of eight. Liz Klompmaker (F-Jr.) leads the ACC in total points with 15 and ranks fifth in total goals with six, two of which are game winners.
• Tara Danielson was named head coach in February 2026, making this her first season leading the Golden Bears. Danielson came to Cal after previously serving as the head coach at Stanford from 2010 – 2021, where she made nine NCAA tournament appearances, including two Elite Eights.

Last Meeting: October 27, 2024 – Louisville won 6-2 in Davis, Calif.
Scouting the Aggies:
• UC Davis the weekend with a 2-6 overall record following a 4-1 loss to Stanford on Tuesday. The Aggies have posted wins over Central Michigan and Bellarmine.
• Morgan Caldera leads the team with two goals
• UC Davis announced Austin Pile as the head coach of the Aggies field hockey program in March 2022. Before Pile spent eight years as the Head Coach of California, he was an Assistant Coach at UC Davis.
