2009: Kasey Heckelman appeared in 63 sets and recorded 20 total blocks and had 82 kills. She came off the bench against Notre Dame and recorded three kills. She notched 10 kills against Toledo (9/12) and nine kills against Connecticut (11/15). She had one service ace on the season, which came against Illinois (9/18) and one assist against DePaul (10/9) Heckelman also had four digs against Connecticut and four total blocks against Toledo (9/12). She recorded three kills and three block assists agianst Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
High School: Heckelman played for Illini Elite Club and her high school ball for Bloomington High School. She was part of the 2008 AAU National Championship squad and earned AAU All-American kudos. A 2006 USAV All-American, she also earned JVDA All-American in 2008. Playing for powerhouse Bloomington High, she earned All-Big 12 Conference for the past three seasons. The Bloomington Pantagraph Newspaper named her All-Area in 2006, 2007 and 2008. A strong student as well, Kasey was an Illinois High School Athletics (IHSA) scholar athlete in both 2007 and 2008. She also earned recognition as a Big 12 Conference Scholar Athlete in 2006, 2007 and 2008. She also earned Fall Festival All Tournament team in 2006 and 2008.
Personal: She is the daughter of Rick and Gayle Heckelman. She was born Sept. 6, 1990. Her major is psychology.
