Sophomore: At the USA Short Course Nationals, he finaled in the 100-back with a 48.31 and finished 16th in the 200-back with a 1:47.06. At the USA National Championships, he was part of the fifth place 4x200-free relay team that finished fifth in 7:28.86 with a split of 1:54.30 as well as the ninth place 4x100 free relay where he split 51.06. Dual meet highlights include a first in the 400-free relay when he split the second leg in 46.33 against Xavier. Against Cincinnati, he won the 100-back in 50.32 and was second in the 200-back with a time of 1:52.13. At the Louisville Invitational, he was fourth in the 50-free with a 20.46 and fifth in both the 100- and 200-back. Against North Carolina he was fifth in the 50-free (21.07 and sixth in the 200-back in 1:51.30. In the meet versus Florida State, he was third in the 200-back (1:50.42). He was also a part of the 200-free relay, the 400-medley relay both touching in third place.
Freshman: Nick adds depth for the Cardinals in the backstroke department. He specializes in the 100- and 200-backstroke, while contributing to the same stroke in the relay events. He recorded his best times at the Michigan Invite with a 48.03 in the 100-back and a 1:45.16 in the 200-back. Nick was able to secure a couple B-cut times while swimming exhibition at The American Championships. Those races were the 100-back, where he dropped .02, going 48.01, and the 200-back, coming in at 1:45.41. He also went 20.61 in the 50-free.
Prep: Nicholas Hasemann joined the Cardinals from Bartlett, Illinois where he swam for Academy Bullets Swim Club and for South Elgin High School. Hasemann was named an NISCA All- American, and a three- time USA Swimming Scholastic All- American. For Hasemann's high school he was awarded Upstate 8 All- Conference Member, and IHSA All- State Team Member.
Personal: Son of John and Olga Hasemann. Born May 12, 1995. Major is finance.
