Junior: Grite was named a two-time All BIG EAST Performer in the 100-Free and 400-Free Relay. Individually, she competed in the 50- and 100-free and 100-fly at the 2012 BIG EAST Championships. She finished as the top Cardinal with a third place finish in the 100-free in a time of 50. 27. She was the second leg on the 400-free relay that placed second, splitting 50.14. Grite placed 20th in the 50-free and 23rd in the 100-fly.
Sophomore: Grite was a two-time All-BIG EAST performer for the Cards. During the BIG EAST Championships, Grite competed in the 200- and 400-free relays, the 50- and 100-free, and the 100-fly. She swam the anchor leg in the 200- and 400-free relays and had split times of 22.63 and 48.98, the fastest and second fastest splits of the race, respectively. The 200-free relay team finished first with a time of 1:31.44, while the 400 team finished second with a time of 3:19.91 (both teams made the national B-cut). Grite swam the 50-free in 23.08 for a fifth-place finish, and in the 100-free she touched at 50.11 and finished fourth.
Freshman: As a freshman, Grite swam the 50- and 100-free and the 100-fly for the Cardinals. She finished third in the 100-free against Miami of Ohio with a time of 53.26. Grite swam a strong 50-free against Tennessee with a time of 24.60. Prep: Grite comes to U of L from Anyksciai, Lithuania. She is a multiple Baltic States champion and a multiple time Lithuanian Champion. She holds the Lithuanian women's records in the 50m-butterfly, the 4x100m freestyle relay, and the 4x100m medley relay. Personal: Daughter of Remigijus Apanavicius and Asta Apanaviciene. She was born June 29, 1990. Her major is exercise science.
