Gaelen set lifetime bests last year in the 50-free at the highly competitive Indiana Invitational. Against Notre Dame at the Shamrock Invitational, he put up his fastest ever times in the 100-free and the 200-free. Horne comes to U of L from Cheyenne Mountain High School. A member of the Air Force Academy Falfins swim club, coached by Scott Allen, he was also recruited by Valparaiso, Air Force Academy and Miami of Ohio. At the 2005 Colorado High School State Meet, he finished third in the 200-free and third in the 100-free. He was an All-State and an All-American consideration in 2004 and 2005.

Personal: He plans on majoring in Biology. He is the son of Roy and Leanne Horne. He was born Sept. 8, 1986.
