Kendall Smith joined Holly Aprile’s coaching staff as a graduate manager for the 2023 season.
The standout catcher played for the Cardinals in 2022 for her final season of eligibility. Smith started all 52 games and stood second on the team with a .302 batting average and finished third on the team in home runs, RBIs, and slugging percentage. She also led the ACC with 15 runners caught stealing.
Smith joined the Cardinals following a stellar four-year career at Western Kentucky. During her time with the Hilltoppers, she was an NFCA All-Mideast Region selection and two-time All-Conference USA team honoree.
Smith found a great deal of success in the classroom as well, being selected to the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 team, named to the ACC Academic Team, and ACC Academic Honor Roll while at Louisville. She was also a Conference USA Academic Medal recipient was also named to the C-USA Honor Roll during her time at WKU. Additionally, Smith was a two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NCFA) Scholar-Athlete and Senior CLASS Award candidate.
The Bowling Green, Kentucky native graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2021 and is pursuing her master’s degree in sport administration at UofL.
