David Boller, an experienced talent evaluator in the National Football League, joined the University Louisville staff in 2015 as the Director of On-Campus Recruiting at the University of Louisville.
With over 20 years of evaluating talent in the NFL, Boller is UofL’s NFL liaison and coordinates on-campus recruiting visits, while assisting with the evaluation of prospective student-athletes for head coach Bobby Petrino.
Boller arrived in Louisville after serving two seasons as the area scout for the New York Jets in 2013-14, where he was responsible for the western half of the country and evaluating offensive and defensive line prospects.
Before stepping out of football for four years as the territory manager for Beaulieu of America, Boller worked three years as the Assistant Pro Director for the Detroit Lions from 2007-09. With Detroit, Boller assisted the general manager with salary cap matters, player evaluations for active players and free agents, and assisted with the weekly advance report for the coaching staff.
Prior to that, Boller spent 13 seasons in the NFL as a scout for the St. Louis Rams (2004-07), a national scout for the Philadelphia Eagles (1998-2004), and a professional scout for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1995-98).
Boller began his career in athletics at Arizona State from 1985-95, where served as the Director of Football Operations for the Sun Devils – responsible for monitoring the football budget, organizing recruiting functions, setting up travel, housing and meals for the football team, and organizing official visits.
Boller attended Arizona State from 1980-84.
