Senior: In his first season with the Cardinals, Palazzo solidified himself as one of the top breaststrokers and finished 10th in the 100 breaststroke (53.09) at the ACC Championships. He won the 100 breaststroke (53.89) at the NCAA Last Chance Invitational and took sixth in that event (54.16) at the Purdue Invitational. Palazzo registered 12 top-8 finishes throughout the dual meet season, highlighted by a runner-up showing in the 100 breaststroke (55.08) against Kentucky. For his performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Palazzo was awarded ACC Honor Roll honors.
Prior to Louisville: Palazzo makes his way to Louisville after spending three years at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. While competing for the Warriors, Palazzo was a 10-time First Team All-American and a two-time conference champion. During his breakout junior season, Palazzo broke the GLIAC record in the 100 breast before going on to earn the DII National Championship title in the 100 breast.
Prep: A native of Verona, Italy, Palazzo graduated from the College of Olympic Reserve. He competed year-round for Bentegodi Verona by Marcello Rigamonti and secured the bronze medal in the 100m breast at the 2013 Italian National Championships. He holds best times of 52.24 in the 100 breast, 1:57.51 in the 200 IM, and 20.18 in the 50 free.
