Freshman: Schafer competed in five meets for the Cards throughout her freshman campaign. At the IU Invitational, she tallied a pair of top-10 finishes, taking seventh on the 1-meter (231.25) and 10th on the platform (156.50). Throughout the season, she recorded top scores of 253.05 on the 1-meter (Virginia), 228.98 on the 3-meter (Virginia) and 156.50 on the platform (IU Invitational).

Prep: Schafer travels south to Louisville from Wayland, Mich., where she dove at the high school level for Wayland Union and coach Caitlin Moritz and competed for the West Michigan Diving Academy under Kyle Oberhill in club. In both 2016 and 2017, she finished runner-up on the 1-meter at the MHSAA D3 Swimming and Diving State Championships. She also earned All-American honors and was selected as a three-time All-State team member for her performances. At the club level, Schafer has dove at the USA Diving National Zone D Championships. Prior to committing full-time to diving, Schafer competed in gymnastics for 10 years.
