2024-25: At the Brazilian National Championships, he was ninth in the 200M free (1:49.14) and 13th in the 100 free (49.95). At the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington, he was on the 800 free relay team that placed 15th with a time of 6:12.18 and on the 400 free relay team that also placed 15th with a time of 2:48.20. He swam the 200 free with a tie of 1:32.54 to place 26th. At the ACC Championships, he was 10th in the 200 free and on the fourth place 800 free relay (6:11.56) as well as the ninth-place 400 free relay team that posted a 2:50.41. During the dual meet season, he won both the 100 free (44.57) and the 200 Free (1:36.46). He also won the 200 free at the SMU Classic (1:34.46) and against Purdue (1:34.73). A the Ohio State Invitational, he touched second in the 200 free (1:31.87) and was second in both the 200 free (1:35.35) and the 100 free (43.22). Against rival Kentucky, he was fourth in the 200 free (1:36.37) and 100 free (45.03) as well as being on the winning 400 free relay (2:52.51). At the meet with Indiana, he was on the second-place 400 free relay team that posted a 2:51.08 and was third in the 200 freestyle, posting time of 1:34.38.
2023-24: Murilo qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games where he swam the leadoff on the 4x200M Relay and posted a split of 1:48.56 as Brazil posted a 7:10.26 in the prelims. At the Pan American Games, he finished third in the 200M free 1:47.95). At the Brazilian National Championships, he won the national championship in the 200 freestyle to lock in a berth at the Olympics for Brazil's 800 Free Relay team. He turned in the winning time of 1:46.98. At the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, where he earned All-American honors in the 200 free, turning in a 1:32.18. He was an All-American in the 800 free relay as well with a seventh place finish after posting a 6:08.32. He earned honorable mention All-American honors on the 400 free relay with a 15th place finish (2:48.55). At the ACC Championships, Murilo scored 52 points. He won gold as part of the 800 free relay team that put up a 6:09.87. He finished sixth in the 500 free (4:18.66) and fifth I the 200 free (1:32.98) and was fifth in the 400 medley relay that posted a 3:03.83. He was 20th in the 100 free (42.97)and seventh in the 400 free relay (2:50.38). In the dual meet season, he swam at the prestigious SMU Classic, where he won the 200 free (1:34.68) and was fourth in both the 500 free (4:22.22) and the 100 free (43.57) and was on the winning 800 free relay and the second place 200 free relay. In the Missouri meet, he was second in the 200 free (1:36.09) and fourth in the 500 free (4:26.57). Swimming against rival Kentucky, he was second in the 200 free (1:34.96) and fifth in the 100 free (44.35) and was on the second place 400 free relay (2:55.96). In the double dual meet with Indiana and Wisconsin, he was third in the 200 free (1:34.55), second in the 500 free (4:21.95) and eighth in the 100 free (44.47) as well as being on the fourth place 400 free relay. In the final dual meet of the season, Murilo won the 200 free (1:34.88) and the 500 free (4:23.08).
2022-23: Over the summer of 2023, Murilo qualified for the World Championships in Fukuoka in the 800 Freestyle Relay for Brazil. At the NCAA Championships, Murilo was 22nd in the 200 free with a 1:33.06. He was 50th in the 100 free with a time of 43.16. He swam on the 800 free relay team that earned HM All-American honors with a ninth place finish of 6:12.25. He scored 46 points at the ACC Championships. He won silver as part of the 800 Free Relay team with a 6:11.26 -- the third fastest time in school history. He made the B-final of the 500 free with a time of 4:17.48 to place 10th overall. In the 200 free, he was in the A-final, placing fifth with a time of 1:33.00. He made the C-final of the 100 free with a 21st place finish, going 43.39. During the dual meet season, he was a part of the winning 400 free relay versus Xavier. He won the 200 free against Tennessee and Notre Dame, adding a win in the 100 free against the Irish as well. At the Purdue Invitational, he was second in the 500 free and the 200 free while posting a win as part of the 400 Medley Relay. At Missouri, he was on the winning 400 Free Relay team with a second in the 200 free. Against rival Kentucky, he won the 200 freestyle and was third in the 500 free as well as being on the winning 400 Free Relay. He was second in the 200 free versus Indiana and won the 500 free against Cincinnati. In June of 2022, Sartori helped lead the 4x200 Freestyle relay squad to a second place in prelims with a split of 1:47.11 as Brazil posted a 7:06.98. In the finals, Brazil was fourth with a time of 7:04.69 with Sartori splitting 1:46.54 on the third leg, the second fastest split in the field.
2021-22: In his first season with the Cardinals, Sartori brought home 8th at the NCAA Championships in the 200 freestyle (1:32.90). He also placed 38th in the 100 freestyle (42.60). At the NCAA Championships, Sartori lead off the 800 freestyle relay (1:32.80 split) to finish 8th and swam freestyle in the 400 medley relay (41.58 split) to finish 7th. Sartori had a stellar ACC Championship meet with personal bests in all three events placing 5th in the 100 freestyle (42.18), 3rd in the 200 freestyle (1:32.75), and 17th in the 500 freestyle (4:18.64). He led off the 800 freestyle relay (1:32.28 split) to a runner-up finish. Throughout the season, he had nine top-6 finishes. Sartori earned three gold medals in the 500 freestyle against Cincinnati and the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay at Kentucky. He finished runner-up in the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay against Indiana and 3rd in the 100 freestyle against Kentucky. Also, against the Wildcats, Sartori took fifth in the 200 medley relay swimming freestyle with a split of 19.60. Against the Hoosiers, he finished 5th in the 100 freestyle and 6th in the 500 freestyle. An excellent student, he was named to the ACC Academic Honor and the University of Louisville AD Honor Roll.
Prep: Murilo came to UofL from Americana, Brazil, where he swam for Natacao Americana Swim Club for Fabio Cremonez and the Brazilian National Team. He represented Brazil at the Tokyo Olympics where he swam the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 1:47.11 to finish 24th overall. He won bronze at the 2019 FINA World Junior Championships in the 200M Free. He is a 20-time National Champion and a two-time South American Champion. At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, he won a silver medal in the 4 × 100M freestyle relay. He also finished 6th in the 200M freestyle.
