Emily Young takes home her second weekly ACC honor of the season
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Emily Young was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week the league office announced today. This marks the second ACC weekly honor of the season for the senior goalkeeper.
Young was instrumental in a pair of shutout wins over the weekend including a 1-0 victory over Boston College in their ACC opener. The Houston native totaled seven saves with five coming against the Eagles and two in the 2-0 win against Saint Joseph's. She now leads the league with four shutouts and stands second with an .816 save percentage.
After the weekend, the Cardinals are now 6-2 on the season and 4-0 at home.
No. 12 Louisville will return to action this weekend when the Cards travel to California for a pair of games starting with an ACC matchup at No. 17 Cal and closing out the weekend at UC Davis.
