Cardinals Set to Host Austin Peay

Louisville will honor seniors Otis and Gaines
 LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team will celebrate Senior Day against the Austin Peay State Governors Saturday, April 11 at 2:00 ET at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center. Â
The match is the last on the regular season slate before Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in Cary, North Carolina.

UofL will honor seniors Alice Otis and Rebekkah Gaines on their Senior Day. This fall, Otis paired with Lika Peresypkina and qualified for the ITA South Sectional in Baton Rouge. This year, she has eight singles wins and seven doubles wins both at No. 1. She is playing some of her best tennis as a senior with a doubles win over Stanford and the 6-3, 6-1 upset of the No. 16 nationally ranked singles player. Gaines, who transferred into the Ville for her senior year,  was named First Team All-SWAC at No. 1 singles in both 2023 and 2024 and was a member of the 2023 and 2024 All-SWAC Tournament Team. At New Mexico, she had 6 wins in singles and 8 wins in doubles. Since coming to the Ville, she has three wins in singles and is undefeated in doubles.Â
APSU comes to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for its last match before the Atlantic Sun Tournament. The Governors head into the matchup winning their last match at Western Kentucky, 4-1. They are coming into the weekend with an 11-4 record. The team has an overall singles record of 63-50, with Elena Thiel and Luca Bohlen leading the way with a record of 10-5 and 13-7. The doubles squads are coming into the weekend 26-28, with the best squad, Clemence Butavand and Sophia Baranov with a record of 7-2. Austin Peay will face Bellarmine Friday afternoon before facing the Cards on Saturday.
