Ohio State will visit UofL Lacrosse Stadium Tuesday at 12 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will open the 2026 campaign on Tuesday against Ohio State at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Admission is free.

Opening Draw
• The University of Louisville lacrosse team returns 23 letterwinners from last year's team which finished with a 7-10 overall record and a 1-8 mark in Atlantic Conference play.
• Louisville is 11-7 in season openers and 14-4 in home openers. The Cardinals won their 2025 home opener with a 10-8 win over No. 15 Denver on Feb. 7.
• The 2026 team captains include: Rian Adkins, Karli Harnischfeger, Cate Kangas, Maggie McMahon and Cece Reilly
• After losing eight seniors to graduation in 2025, Louisville will field a young roster with 11 freshmen and eight sophomores to go along with seven seniors and six juniors.
• The Cardinals return three of their top six goal scorers from last season.
•Junior Reese Whiteman set career-highs last season, led the Cardinals in goals (26) and points (32) in 2025.
• Senior midfielder Rian Adkins returns after finishing third on the team in points (23) with a career best 14 goals and nine assists.
• Senior attacker Maggie McMahon is also an important contributor on offense, compiling 12 goals and nine assists last season.
• Junior Defender Cate Kangas led the team with 20 caused turnovers as a sophomore, while also compiling 24 ground balls.
• Sophomore defender Olivia Scroggie paced the Cardinals with 73 draw controls in 2025.
• Louisville was voted 11th in the ACC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• Head coach Scott Teeter is entering his ninth season at the helm. He carries a 193-203 in his 24th season as a head coach and a 48-83 mark at UofL.

2025 Rewind
• The University of Louisville lacrosse team finished the 2025 season with a 7-10 overall record and a 1-8 mark in Atlantic Conference play.
• With 10 players sidelined throughout the season due to injury, Louisville battled through a strength of schedule ranked No. 29 that included national champion North Carolina and semifinalist Boston College.
• Louisville graduated eight seniors including: goalkeeper J Pleck, who accumulated 258 saves in her career, standing fifth all-time in program.
• The Cardinals will also be without defender Ashley Osborne, who closed her career as a sixth-year senior in 2025 with a school record 82 games played. Osborne also accumulated 106 ground balls in her career, thanks to a team high 25 last season, becoming the eighth player in program history with 100 or more ground balls.

Last meeting: Feb. 15, 2025 – Ohio State won 9-6 the Cardinals traveled to Columbus and fell to the Buckeyes 9-6.

Cardinal Connection: Louisville assistant coach Riley Ewing played for The Ohio State University from 2018-22. Ewing finished her career ranked seventh all-time in Buckeye history with 119 draw control wins. She also sits at fifth all-time for draw controls in a single season with 71 in 2019, and is ranked among the Buckeyes' top 10 with a career-high 10 draw controls in a single game.

•  Ohio State brings an 0-1 record into Tuesday's matchup following a 13-10 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday. Camryn Callaghan had a team-best four goals and six points while Kate Tyack had four points with two goals and two assists. Jocelyn Torres made six saves in the Buckeye cage. Â
• OSU is led by coach Amanda Moore, who is entering her third season as head coach and has gone 16-16 in her time with the Buckeyes.
