February 28, 2026 | Track & Field
Ashley Callahan (women’s pole vault) and Roman Kuleshov (men’s triple jump) won ACC titles, while Miller Jones was named the Men’s Field MVP of the meet.
BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Louisville track & field teams closed out the third and final day of competition at the ACC Indoor Championships on Saturday, finishing the meet with their best combined finish in the team standings since 2018.
The Louisville men placed fifth in the team race with a total of 55 points, their second-best finish at the meet in program history, while the Louisville women finished sixth after scoring 46 points over the course of the weekend.
After winning an individual ACC title on each of the first two days of competition, the Cards won two more individual crowns on Saturday, as Ashley Callahan and Roman Kuleshov won the first ACC titles of their careers.
Callahan emerged victorious from a stacked field in the women's pole vault that featured five athletes with NCAA-qualifying marks entering the weekend, clearing a final bar of 4.50m (14-9) that equaled her own program record that she and Iliana Triantafyllou set at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Feb. 14.
With the victory, Callahan becomes the first Louisville woman to win the ACC pole vault title indoors and completes the sweep for Louisville on the pole vault runway after KJ Byrd won the men's title on Thursday.
Kuleshov also secured 10 points for the Cardinals in the men's triple jump, leaping to a new personal-best mark of 16.05m (52-8) that ranks him third in program history while becoming only the second Louisville man to win the ACC indoor triple jump title.
Miller Jones joined Kuleshov on the podium, notching his second runner-up finish of the meet with a mark of 15.88m (52-1.25) after also placing second in the men's long jump on Friday. At the conclusion of the meet, Jones was named the Men's Field MVP of the ACC Indoor Championships, joining Damar Robinson (2016, 2017) as the second man in program history to earn the honor.
After earning the bronze at the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships in October, freshman Elsingi Kipruto claimed bronze in the men's 3000m, battling to a time of 7:46.76 that bettered his own program record of 7:49.54 that he set at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 30.
Kaia Tupu-South earned a bronze medal of her own in her ACC Championships debut, recording a toss of 16.78m (55-0.75) on her fourth attempt of the competition.
Along with Callahan's title-winning clearance in the women's pole vault, Iliana Triantafyllou continued her stellar indoor campaign in the event, posting a final bar of 4.45m (14-7.25) to place fourth and earn Second Team All-ACC honors.
A pair of Cardinals earned Second Team All-ACC distinction in the women's triple jump to close out the meet, as Alba Cuns Iglesias placed fourth with a mark of 13.07m (42-10.75) and Anna Panenko recorded a personal-best mark of 12.94m (42-5.5) to place fifth and move up to fourth in the Louisville record books.
The Cardinals will now turn their attention to the 2026 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place on Mar. 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
Athletes who boast a top-16 mark nationally in their respective events will be invited to the championship meet after the conclusion of all conference championship meets. The final list of participants for the NCAA Indoor Championships will be announced on Tuesday, Mar. 3.
