Danilowicz Named ACC Pitcher of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville senior Wyatt Danilowicz was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week announced by the league on Monday.
Danilowicz is the first Louisville to earn the conference's Pitcher of the Week honor since Sebastian Gongora in April of 2024.
Danilowicz was dominant on Sunday in the finale of the three-game series against Michigan State at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Making the first start of his collegiate career, the southpaw retired the first eight batters he faced, including striking out the side in order in the second. Danilowicz struck out the side in order again in the fifth, on his way to a new career best of nine strikeouts.
The senior allowed just three baserunners on the day, pitching six shutout innings in the longest outing of his career.
The Cardinals are back on the diamond on Tuesday to take on Xavier. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
